COP21 on the Seine riverbanks
On the agenda: artistic signage and graphic design for the spaceline at the 2015 UN Climate Change Conference
2015 in Paris is the year of a major global event, the Paris Climate Conference. The paths on the Seine riverbanks provide a venue for informing those taking a stroll and the public at large about the topics addressed at the summit. The spaceline helps raise awareness of the main issues at stake via keywords displayed on the path in spherical form.
The goal is to raise public awareness about climate issues throughout the stroll, through symbols that catch the eye without being overly dramatic. Blue is a colour that we intuitively associate with water and the sky, establishing a connection with the environmental theme. The images vary from one place to another—a cloud here, a wave there, a whirlwind or sparking water.
