a theatre that has made its mark
Théâtre de la Croix-Rousse occupies a special place in Lyon’s theatre landscape, offering a new take on popular theatre with programming open to all types of contemporary forms. We devised an approach that connects with all types of audiences, with a refined style that bucks convention.
in a historic neighbourhood
The theatre’s location in a historic Lyon neighbourhood offers an opportunity to draw from our collective imagination. The theatre had already given pride of place to the La Croix-Rousse district in its existing logotype. We proposed utilising the full potential of these local roots and the character x, which holds meaning in its own right.
x-rousse
The rotated cross became the symbol of the theatre along with the logotype. Visuals were placed inside to present performance photos from a new angle.
creative signs
We also created a visual object for new works and plays with long runs – A visually intriguing artefact reminiscent of surrealist objects, which conjures up the performance arts and the sublime.
